Reflections...

Teach 21 has been a new way to teach. This year I spent learning and using the Smart Board. It has given me the tools to use technology to enhanse my teaching. I use my SmartBoard daily. We use it when accessing the web when we ask questions. It has enabled me to access and save notebooks that help me teach math. We have accessed Google maps to view communities, states, cities and the US in order to compare and contrast. I now can access web pages and bring them into my classroom instead of just telling the students about them. The computer is something that we all are accessing to find information, not just me!

My teaching is different because I am constantly developing lessons that my students can manipulate. My lessons can be saved and I love being able to go in, add to and change notebook pages! It has changed my thinking because it challenges me to teach better and I am always thinking about my teaching and student learning.

My students are better thinkers because of the Smart Board. It challenges them to think about what they are doing. It brings my class together. When the Smart Board is used for a center, it makes them responsible for what they are learning. I love watching them apply what I teach by helping each other and teaching each other. I know it has been an advantage in my classroom because their work is improving and they are excited!

I have loved this. This year I have focused on the Smart Board. I hope to incorporate blogging into my classroom next year. I need a little more time to "digest" and play with these things!!!! It has been a great year! Thanks!
